Senior Industrial Engineer / Systems & Business Analyst ~ Sylvania

1997 – 1998

Analyzed national inventory management of $250 million market share in 9 warehouses and distribution centers and 7 manufacturing plants shipping nearly 2 billion units per year. Created and managed cross-functional teams to develop, write, and implement decision support software interfacing with SAP and RIMS, a Warehouse Management System; researched and recommended software for corporate purchase. Redesigned systems for rapid flexibility to match changing business structure and style. Built business-unit relationships and created information and decision-making flow between business groups. Developed and co-wrote ISO 9000 procedures.

Project Manager ~ Sylvania

1997

Designed, implemented, and assessed audit of 5,988 products for SAP implementation. Established network of team members from warehouse workers to directors of the company, tapping resources and skills to increase efficiency of audit. Initiated, co-designed, and maintained logistics system to manage flow of product in and out of world headquarters from distribution centers in North America. Negotiated fluctuating building space, usage, and maintenance. Procured proper equipment to perform detailed data collection of all necessary product characteristics. Analyzed 319,188 data fields for completion and accuracy. Hired, requisitioned, trained, and managed full-time, on-call, and short- term staff. Researched and reconfigured division packaging data.

 

Director of Communications ~ Agape Humanitarian Relief

1992 – 1993

Developed, implemented, and assessed public relations and fund raising strategies. Co-wrote and marketed grant proposals – won approximately $10 million in cash and gifts-in-kind. Negotiated relief deliveries from international donors to Croatia and Bosnia in conjunction with the US State Department and relief organizations such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and USAID. Press releases and photographs published and distributed worldwide. Pitched AGAPE to and hosted visits of international agencies, foreign dignitaries, and the media. Analyzed previous methodology for use as case study by senior executives and board members.

 

Museum Guide & Educator (Interpreter Internship) ~ Boston Children’s Museum

1991

Collaborated with developer and interpreter focus groups to research and design program aimed at early adolescents. Engaged the public with exhibits. Taught numerous interactive programs and activities to highly diverse and mobile audiences. Skilled in handling organized chaos. Supervised teen interpreters. Gained familiarity with museum operations. Massachusetts Very Special Arts festival.

Worked as team with 4 other heads to create, publicize/promote and coordinate the implementation of all major and ongoing social events within budget of $8000. Tri–college Fall Frolic, major concerts and popular comedian series (600 – 1200 person audiences), networking cocktail hours, museum/winery day trips, lectures. Supervised committee of 25 residence representatives. Made oral reports to executive committee and to large body of 150 student reps. Maintained close contact with college offices of the President, Deans, and Student Life. Continued as an alum with special focus on recent–graduate programming, fundraising and admissions.
